Import List for Serato DJ Pro

Turn any tracklist into a Serato crate.

Paste a set list, or drop a CSV, TXT or M3U exported from anywhere, and Crate Cleaner matches every line against the files you already own. Confident matches build a Serato crate with BPM, key, cues and waveforms already in place. The rest become a shopping list. No account, no upload, nothing leaves your Mac.

Paste or drop

Any list, however you already have it

Paste a tracklist one line at a time, or drop a file. Import List reads plain text, CSV, TSV and M3U, so an export from rekordbox, Traktor, Engine DJ, a spreadsheet, a promoter’s running order or a radio log all drop straight in. It pulls the artist and title out of each line and lines them up against your library.

Match

Every line matched against files you own

Import List runs the same matcher as Spotify Import: it compares each line to the files you own on title and artist, and on duration when the list carries it, then scores the result. You see at a glance which lines matched, which need a look, and which you simply do not own yet.

Review

Clean, extended and remix versions matched explicitly

Radio edit, clean, extended, remix: each is treated as a different record. Confident matches are accepted automatically, borderline ones wait in a review queue for your call, and your confirm and reject decisions stick the next time you import the same list.

The gap list

Whatever you don’t own becomes a shopping list

Anything with no confident match becomes a shopping list instead of a silent failure. Copy it out and take it to Beatport, Bandcamp or your record pool, so you know exactly what to buy before the gig instead of finding the hole mid-set.

How it works

How a list becomes a crate

The whole flow runs against a read-only view of your library. Matching and saving are free; nothing is written to Serato until you export, and exports only happen while Serato is closed.

  1. Paste or drop your listPaste a tracklist or drop a CSV, TXT or M3U. Give it a name and click Match against library.
  2. Match and reviewEach line is scored against the files you own. Confirm the borderline matches, leave the rest on the gap list.
  3. Save or exportSave it as a crate for free, or export straight into Serato on Studio with BPM, key, cues and waveforms in place.

FAQ

Questions about Import List

Does Import List upload my list or my files anywhere?
No. Parsing and matching run entirely on your Mac, against a read-only view of your library. Nothing is uploaded and no account is required.
What file formats can I import?
Plain text with one track per line, plus .csv, .tsv, .m3u and .m3u8. You can also paste a list straight in. Exports from rekordbox, Traktor, Engine DJ, a spreadsheet or a radio log all work.
Do I need a Spotify account to use Import List?
No. Import List is for tracklists you already have as text or a file. The separate Spotify Import feature is for pulling playlists from a connected Spotify account.
Will importing a list change my Serato library?
Not until you export. Matching, review and saving happen inside Crate Cleaner. A Serato crate is only written when you export, and only while Serato is closed.
Is Import List free?
Matching a list, reviewing the results and saving it as a crate are all free. Exporting the crate straight into Serato is part of the Studio plan.
What happens to tracks I do not own?
They become a missing list you can copy, rather than being dropped silently, so the gap turns into a shopping list you can fill before the gig.
