Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Crate Cleaner LLC ("Crate Cleaner", "we", "us") governing your use of the Crate Cleaner application (the "App") and cratecleaner.com (the "Site"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your licence

When you purchase a plan (or use the free trial), we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on macOS for managing your own Serato DJ Pro library.

• Free trial: limited features (including a 500-track scan limit), no payment required, for evaluating the App on your own library.
• Pro and Studio: subscription plans, billed monthly or yearly, active for as long as your subscription is paid.
• Lifetime: a one-time purchase covering every Studio feature and all future updates, on up to 2 machines.

Licence keys are personal. You may not share, resell, publish, or transfer a key. The App contacts our licence server on activation, and periodically afterwards, to validate your key against your device. We may revoke keys that are shared, resold, leaked, or obtained fraudulently.

2. What you may not do

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App, except where applicable law expressly permits it
• Redistribute, rent, lease, or sell the App or your licence key
• Circumvent licence validation, trials, or plan limits
• Use the App to infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright in audio files

3. Plans, billing, and cancellation

Payments are processed by Stripe. Current pricing is shown on the pricing section of the Site.

• Auto-renewal: monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
• Cancellation: you can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid, and you will not be charged again. To cancel, use the Stripe customer portal link from your receipt email or contact support@cratecleaner.com.
• Price changes: we may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you don't agree, cancel before the new price takes effect.
• Taxes: prices may be subject to VAT or other taxes depending on your location.

4. Refunds

14-day money-back guarantee. If Crate Cleaner isn't for you, email support@cratecleaner.com within 14 days of your first purchase of any plan and we will refund it in full. This applies to the first purchase of each plan type, not to renewals; if you don't want to renew, cancel before the renewal date.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, this guarantee operates alongside your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

5. Your library and your responsibility

Crate Cleaner is built to be safe: scans are read-only, changes are only written while Serato is closed, duplicates are archived rather than deleted, and snapshots let you roll back the App's database. But your music library is irreplaceable, and no software can guarantee against every failure, including power loss, disk failure, or bugs.

You confirm that you have the rights to the audio files you manage with the App.

6. Intellectual property

The App, the Site, and everything in them (code, design, logos, text) are owned by Crate Cleaner LLC and protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms give you a licence to use the App; they do not transfer any ownership to you. Serato and Serato DJ Pro are trademarks of their respective owner; Crate Cleaner is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Serato.

7. Updates and availability

We may release updates that add, change, or remove features. Lifetime licences include all future updates to the App. We may discontinue the App or specific features; if we discontinue the App entirely, core local functionality that does not depend on our servers will continue to work as installed.

8. Warranty disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted.

If you are a consumer, you retain all warranty rights guaranteed by mandatory law, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content under EU law, which this section does not limit.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crate Cleaner LLC's total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost bookings, or lost data.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms (for example, sharing licence keys or circumventing validation), and where the breach is remediable, we will give you notice and a reasonable chance to fix it first. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's dispute resolution tools.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version always lives at this page with its effective date at the top. For material changes, we will give reasonable notice on the Site or by email. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
