Describe the set: BPM range, harmonic key, energy target, genre. Smart Crates auto-build it along the Camelot wheel with an energy arc that peaks where you want it, label every transition, and export the finished crate straight back to Serato.
Rules
A Smart Crate is a set of rules, not a list of songs. Set the rules once and rebuild whenever your library grows: the same peak-hour recipe stays fresh all year.
Keep the set inside the pocket you play, like 120 to 130, so every blend is a realistic tempo move.
Pick a starting key and the build sequences around the Camelot wheel, so consecutive tracks are always compatible.
Set an energy floor and the build shapes the set to climb toward peak where you want it, then bring the room back down.
Limit genres, exclude tracks played in the last two weeks, and target a set length like 90 minutes.
The build
The build is not a shuffled playlist that happens to match filters. Tracks are sequenced so the mix works: harmonic flow is scored for the whole set, and each transition tells you why it earns its place.
The data underneath
Smart Crates run on the BPM, Camelot key, energy and play data in your library. Crate Cleaner reads what Serato analyzed, fills the gaps with its own BPM, key and energy analysis, and shows it all inline while you browse, so the raw material for great sets is always visible.
