Surprises in the booth

The problem

The set that fails you fails quietly.

A missing file that will not load, a corrupt track, a fake 320 that turns to mush on a club system: you find these mid-set, in front of the room, or you find them at home the one time you thought to check. Pre-Gig Check is that check, made instant and total.

What it checks

One verdict, three tiers of honesty.

Every issue is sorted by how much it actually matters to a working set, so the one blocker that stops the night is never buried under things that are merely worth knowing.

Blocker

It will not play

Missing files and corrupt files: the deck cannot load these at all. Fix them or the set has a hole in it.

Warning

It will hurt

Fake and suspect bitrates, plus duplicate tracks sitting inside the same set. Everything loads, but the room hears it.

Info

Worth knowing

Unanalyzed BPM or key, explicit-version titles, and repaired copies you have not swapped in yet. Judgement calls, not faults.

Reads your other tools

It already knows what Crate Cleaner found.

Pre-Gig Check does not re-scan anything. It rolls up the work every other feature already did: the quality scan's verdicts, the duplicate engine's groups, the explicit flags from Spotify, and the version families that know a clean edit sits one swap away. An explicit track with a clean version in your library is reported as a fix, not just a flag.

How it works

Two clicks, start to gig-ready.

It runs read-only against a snapshot of the crate. Nothing is written, nothing is changed, and it works on any crate: a Serato import, a Spotify build, or a smart crate.

  1. Open a crateAny crate you are about to play, or one you just built from a Spotify playlist.
  2. Run Pre-Gig CheckOne button. Every detector reports at once into a single pass and a single verdict.
  3. Fix the blockers, walk inWork top-down: blockers first, warnings if you have time, info at a glance. Then go play.

FAQ

Questions DJs ask.

What does Pre-Gig Check actually look at?
Missing files, corrupt files, fake and suspect audio quality, duplicate tracks within the crate, tracks with no analyzed BPM or key, explicit-version titles, and enhanced copies you have not adopted. Each is grouped as a blocker, a warning, or info.
Does running it change my library or crate?
No. The check is completely read-only. It reads a snapshot of the crate and reports; nothing is written to your files or to Serato.
What is the difference between a blocker and a warning?
A blocker will not load in the booth at all, such as a missing or corrupt file, so it fails the check. A warning will play but hurts the set, such as a fake 320 or a duplicate. Info items never fail the check.
Why is an explicit track only info, not a warning?
Because whether it is a problem depends on the room. A clean set at a wedding and an open format club night have opposite needs, so explicit versions are surfaced, not judged, and if you own a clean version Crate Cleaner tells you so.
Does it work on crates I built from Spotify?
Yes. It works on any crate, including ones built by the Spotify import, so you can go from a pasted playlist to a checked, gig-ready crate without leaving the app.
